10:34 am	Hookah Etiquette? Hookah is considered to be a method of having a slow and relaxed experience of smoking. This includes preparation, lighting and smoking methods that make it more relaxed and comfortable to use. It is totally different from taking cigars because of the nicotine rush that you feel; it is all about relaxing out with friends and a socializing act with groups of people. Hookah smoking is not intended to be an addictive vice but more of a part of a social gathering of friends. Normally, a hookah smoking session can last for about 30 minutes to an hour. Hookah should be prepared clean with cold water, your flavorful shisha, and charcoal then smoked though the bubbling water. Being filtered by the water, a light and flavorful smoke is giving out the senses which is good for slow and relaxed smoking while slowly meditating, relaxing, light conversation or activity with friends. There may be some techniques that one may use to improve the hookah smoking experience. One is by adding ice to the water which gives you a cooler more of chilled smoke from the hose. Different flavored tobaccos or shisha may also be added to add more aroma and flavor as you smoke in through the hose of the hookah. Some shishas come in different blends of flavors for that added spice and taste. However, there are specifically required needed to make sure that you will have a good hookah smoking experience. Always use the proper charcoal for smoking. These are specifically made for hookah smoking only; these are charcoals that are not briquettes. Also put a small amount of shisha or hookah tobacco in the bowl, do not go above the rim. If the smoke or flavor is not enough, it might be because you charcoals are not yet hot. You may also have to change charcoals for each and every smoking session. Hookah smoking has been part of a tradition or a social activity, it is but right to follow etiquettes when using hookah. First and foremost, do not light cigarettes with the charcoal that heats up the hookah tobacco. Also do not blow into someone else's face. Do not share plastic mouthpiece. And lastly, do not smoke cigar or tobacco when a hookah session is in place. If a person is finished with smoking, the hose should be set directly on the table. While the reissues will not include any Beatles albums, remastered versions of albums from James Taylor, Badfinger, Billy Preston, Mary Hopkin and others will be released on CD and digital download. The reissues, which will notably mark "the first ever Apple Records releases to be available via digital download," are slated for release on Oct. 26. The move follows years of wrangling over the release of the lucrative Beatles catalog on digital. Sir Paul McCartney told the BBC in May that labels were to blame for the delay. "It's been business hassles," McCartney told the BBC. "Not with us, or iTunes. It's the people in the middle, the record label. There have been all sorts of reasons why they don't want to do it." 10:21 am	Can the Playstation 3 Push 3-D Into the Mainstream? Something funny happened on the stage of Sony's press conference at the Electronic Entertainment Expo this year. Kaz Hirai, Chief Executive Officer of Sony Computer Entertainment, stood on stage and proclaimed the PlayStation 3 will do for 3D what it did for Blu-ray. Um, no. There is a huge difference at the consumer level between Blu-ray and 3D when it comes to the PS3. No, you don't need an expensive HDTV to enjoy the format, although noting any differences between Blu-ray and DVD would be unheard of on this type of set-up. Of course, many people do have HDTVs, an upgrade they likely made in the past few years. It took some time to make that shift into the mainstream, and we are now at the point where buying a standard definition TV at the likes of Best Buy is now rendered impossible. Many spent a few grand on their new home theater and are quite happy with that. Now, in a miniscule amount of time, people are being asked to upgrade yet again. PS3 owners were bombarded with 3D demonstrations during the show, and upgrades to certain games are available for download via the PlayStation Network for free, turning them into showcases. That's great and all, but you are asking consumers to spend thousands of dollars more to turn over their likely new equipment into 3D-capable sets. It's not just the price either, which in its current state is hilariously high. Let's move into the future a bit when those prices have come down from the ridiculous $150+ for a pair of glasses. Why even upgrade? No matter how powerful your hardware, you need to switch everything out. Just because the PlayStation 3 supports it means little. The Xbox 360 hosted the Avatar game, but that's it for retail releases. Microsoft needs to embrace 3D, Netflix needs to embrace 3D, and cable/satellite companies need to embrace 3D for this format to stand a chance. 2:20 pm	Next Hothead Game Swarms Digital Download Platforms Some time during this week's E3 hubbub, DeathSpank developer Hothead revealed this teaser trailer for its upcoming Swarm project, as well as a publishing deal with UTV Ignition Entertainment to release the "comedy action game" across all major digital distribution platforms in early 2011. As you can see in the clip, the game stars a group of Lemmings-esque, suicidal creatures called Swarmites. Players control 50 of the blue Swarmites as they run, bash, jump, push, stack, and throw their way through "gauntlets of death and destruction in an attempt to collect valuable DNA" and ensure that at least one of them survives. 1:45 pm	100kg of black market tobacco discovered SECRET stashes of exotic tobacco products have been found in a series of raids. The swoops have uncovered a booming black market in so-called shisha, also known as hookah, on Tyneside. HM Revenue & Customs officers seized more than 100 kilos of the tobacco, which is either chewed or smoked through water pipes, during a special operation codenamed Fairground. The strikes happened at two ethnic food stores in Newcastle's West End and another in Gateshead town centre. An HMRC spokeswoman said: "Tobacco products such as the flavoured tobacco used in water pipes and Asian chewing tobacco - such as gutkha - are subject to tobacco products' duty and covered by Department of Health regulations. "The 100 kilos of fruit, chewing and shisha tobacco seized on Tyneside shows we have a real problem with the unregulated supply of tobacco products. "We are particularly concerned at their increased availability in the West End of Newcastle. "It's very important that anyone intending to trade in tobacco products gets to know the rules and the HMRC National Advice Service is there to help on 0845 010 9000." Shisha or hookah is typically a mix of tobacco, molasses and flavourings and is made mainly in Egypt and the Middle East. It is smoked using Shisha or Hookah pipes. Modern chewing baccy is produced in three forms, known as twist, plug, and scrap. Any product containing tobacco has to comply with the Tobacco Products Regulations 2002, which require health warnings to be displayed and excise duty to be paid. HMRC officers have the right to seize any goods not complying with these laws and the raids represent the first major haul in the North East. At one premises, in Arthurs Hill, Newcastle, 86.5 kilos were recovered, while 14 kilos were taken from another in nearby Fenham. And at the Gateshead address, just under one kilo was seized. Overall, the haul is said to be worth around £11,000. 1:10 pm	Lexmark Interact S605 Lexmark's Interact S605 color inkjet multifunction printer avoids being just another $200 printer/scanner/copier by including a 4.3-inch color LCD touchscreen for its control panel (think iPod touch or iPhone). Unfortunately, that embellishment doesn't fully compensate for the machine's pricey inks and other shortcomings. The Interact S605's 4.3-inch touchscreen control panel is its standout feature. The touchscreen also gives the machine a cleaner look than a raft of buttons would. Automatic duplexing (two-sided printing) is the other big plus. Media slots support MS/MMC, SD, and xD card; there is a USB/PictBridge port as well. Lexmark's adaptable setup routine walks novices through every step, but allows savvier users to skip through at a faster pace. There is no ethernet. On the Mac, the Interact S605 managed a lackluster 4.1 pages per minute for plain-black text; on a PC the printer was a bit faster at 6.4 ppm. On either platform, text was crisp and very black. Full-color, 4-by-6-inch photos (printed on letter-size paper) averaged 1.9 ppm on the PC; on the Mac, a 7.5-by-9.9-inch, high-resolution color photo printed on letter-size paper in about 83 seconds (0.7 ppm). Alas, the Interact S605 can't work with that supercheap 105XL cartridge. The standard-size "100" inks include a 170-page black cartridge ($16, or 9.4 cents per page) and separate 200-page, cyan, magenta, and yellow color cartridges ($10 each, or 5 cents per color per page). The high-yield "100XL" versions are a little more expensive than average: a 510-page black costs $25 (4.9 cents per page) and 600-page cyan, magenta, and yellow cartridges cost $18 each (3 cents per color, per page).
